Fill the Cast Iron Smoker Box with NorthWoods Smoke
Wood chips.
Place on lowest grate or the flavorizer bars in the
grill. These are usually just below the cooking grate.
Preheat grill to 400 to 450 degrees.
When smoke begins to come out of smoker box, turn
grill temp down to desired cooking temp.
Place you food on the grill and cook as desired.
***Not necessary to soak or
wet chips prior to use. For long cooking times, add
water directly to smoker box, chips will absorb water
very readily.
When using a Charcoal
grill.
Start charcoal per manufacturer’s instructions.
Prior to placing food on grill, sprinkle presoaked
wood chips directly onto charcoal.
Add more chips later if you desire more smoke flavor.
1-3 handfuls are usually enough to add wonderful wood
flavor to your food.
When slow cooking over longer periods, add chips
at the beginning and throughout the cook time.
***Not necessary to soak or
wet chips prior to use.
